Malta Metallum - Producer, Designer

Malta Metallum is a competitive turn-based strategy game where 2 to 6 players lead high fantasy mining companies seeking to exploit a resource-rich mountain and sabotage opponents.

Our team was disorderly at first, but I stepped up to be our team lead and ensured we met deadlines. I set up effective file organization, kept tabs with everyone’s tasks via Discord, and combined with my designer role I was able to vision hold our game - keeping us on track.

Click Here where you can see I organized our group’s biggest playtest, the blind playtest. This was important to our team because it meant we could receive important feedback on the useability of ur rulebook as well as the overall player experience. I managed the playtest throughout its over three-hour recording and did my best to keep the playtesters talking about their experience. I took careful notes that yielded a lot of valuable information on what needed to be clarified in our rules and balancing changes that could be made.

As a producer, effective team communication was critical to me. I achieved this by taking charge of handling our core design document and rulebook. Created collaboratively, the design document had to be clear so our team members could refer to it anytime they had questions. I was the primary quality tester of our rulebook, which was used both internally and as an external means of play. I would constantly review the rulebook and organize sections, change the wording, and create visuals to make sure no meaning was muddled.
